THANK YOU
I would like to personally thank each of you for your donation of time and money toward the upkeep and maintenance of our historic cemetery.
Thanks to Mr. Bob White for the survey work he is continuing to do. I would also like to thank the committee members who attend four meetings and two work days each year. The following sections will detail the accomplishments of the committee, and the dreams for the future of Haynes Creek Cemetery.

SURVEYING OF GRAVE SITES
Mr. White has surveyed and we have recorded sections 3 & 4, which are the two newest sections on the north side of the cemetery. To our surprise, we have 1245 burial spaces in section 3 and 471 in section 4. There are 538 known burials in section 3 and 101 in section 4. We have 18 cremations and 67 regular sites available for sale in these two sections.
Thanks again to Mr. White for all he is doing. He is doing it as a contribution to our cemetery.
INFO BOX
We now have an information box behind the south column at the cemetery entrance that has newsletters for our visitors.
WORK DAYS
On April 17, we had a work day during which we did some cleaning on the west edge, cleaned up some old flowers, etc., hauled off about ten contractor bags of trash and old flowers, and worked on drainage problems. Thanks to Jim Martin, Evelyn Elliott, Susan Pierson, Robin Mashburn, Jamie Hewatt, Mattie Hewatt, Chris Rutledge, Keith Rutledge, Stephen Rutledge, and Larry Rutledge.
Our next work day is scheduled for Saturday November 20th (8AM-1PM).
Please come and help. We need to remove and clean up two old small buildings.
NOTIFICATION
It is a must that Robin Mashburn is notified before digging a grave. This is very helpful in maintaining our records and to be sure all is done correctly. His # is 770-982-2926.
MAINTENANCE
We have a landscape agreement with Barnes Landscaping, although it is the responsibility of family members to care for individual plots.
Please remove old flowers and vases, and take with you.

WEB SITE
Chloe Rutledge is working to create a web page for the cemetery which will have names of people buried along with grave # to help family members find the burial site of their beloved ancestors. If you have expertise in building or maintaining a web site, and would like to help with this project, please let us know.
UPCOMING NEEDS
AND DREAMS
Some day in the near future the old “dinner on the ground” and “reunion pavilion” to the south of the Church is going to need to be replaced.
Pending Committee approval, we would like to build a small pavilion near the bell to house a plat and index of people buried in the cemetery with date of birth and death. This will be of help now, and to generations in the future, to find the burial site of family members, and to do family searches.
Also, we would like to put a monument inside or near the pavilion with the names of people buried in unnamed, unmarked graves.
COPING
If your grave plot has not been coped or 4 corner posts placed, please do so as soon as possible. This will help us determine what is owned and what is available for sale. We had a situation this year when we were told by a relative that a body was buried in an unmarked area that looked as though it could be sold to someone else. We are so thankful this person came forward before that happened. The records that we have are very limited given the age of the cemetery and how for many years it was handled by word of mouth.
MAILING LIST
If you know of family members who would like to be on our mailing list, please have them notify us.
HELP WANTED
Our desire is for the Cemetery Fund to be perpetual. In order to do this, and the dreams and needs mentioned, your tax deductible donations are needed very much.
All the money donated is used solely for maintenance and improvements of the cemetery. All Committee members and everyone mentioned in this newsletter, with the exception of Barnes Landscaping, work on a voluntary basis and we thank them for their contribution and thank you in advance for yours.
